Flint Hills Pride General Membership Meeting December 05, 2009

Meeting was called to order by President Brandon Haddock at 8:05 pm

• Discussion of 2010 Flint Hills Pride theme development
  • Starting 12/31/2009, the general public will be invited to submit ideas for the 2010 Flint Hills Pride Theme.
  • Entries will be accepted for 30 days.
  • At the February 2010 General Membership meeting, tentatively scheduled for 2/6/2010, the FHP committee shall choose a winner for the 2010 FHP theme, based on entries submitted.
  • Winning entrant will receive a free FHP 2010 tee shirt.
  • Motion submitted by Mike M., seconded by Chad W.

• Discussion of 2010 FHP logo design
  • After 2010 FHP theme has been selected, the general public will be invited to submit ideas for the 2010 FHP logo.
  • Entries will be accepted for 30 days
  • At the March 2010 General Membership meeting, tentatively scheduled for 3/6/2010, the FHP committee shall choose a winner for the 2010 FHP logo, based on entries submitted.
  • Winning entrant will receive a free FHP 2010 tee shirt.

• December 31, 2009 50/50 raffle fundraiser
  • Motion by Brian Y. to hold the event, seconded by Kevin S.
  • Motion carries
• Discussion of Liability Insurance
  • Review of need for insurance and potential risks of underage drinking, injury to patrons, inappropriate conduct, etc.
  • Brian Y. will contact Acorn Resorts and explore potential of allowing FHP to piggyback on their liability insurance.
  • Brian Y. will also contact attorneys to determine potential risk exposure of FHP for liability issues.
  • Motion by Brian Y. to table current issue of liability insurance, while allocating a maximum of $250 for potential legal expenditures.  Motion seconded by Kevin S.
  • Motion carries.
• Discussion of Mr. and Mrs. FHP
  • There is a general desire to escalate the roles and responsibilities of Mr. and Mrs. Flint Hills Pride to include more participation with FHP.
  • Prior FHP titleholders will be asked to chair the subsequent Mr. and Mrs. Flint Hills Pride Pageant as well as hosting one fundraiser activity.
  • The 2010 pageant will tentatively be moved to March, pending final approval of Mark B.
  • Kevin S. will create a list of preliminary job duties for Mr. and Mrs. Flint Hills Pride as well as scheduling of 2010 pageant.

• Discussion of Super Bowl fundraiser
  • Darci B. and Kevin S. will manage this event.
  • Event will be titles Souper Bowl, with a main dish theme of soups, stews, chili, etc.
  • Motion submitted by Jessica M, seconded by Chad W.
  • Motion carries.
• Next general membership meeting to be held January 2, 2010 at 8:00 pm at Xcalibur Club.
